Aussie BBQ, and a little more!

The hostel that I'm staying in is really really nice, I will post a few pictures tomorrow! :) On Monday they had a really nice bbq, with kangaroo, emu (Australias biggest bird, funny fact is the dad raise the kids alone) and crocodile!! Very special tastes all of them, crocodile tastes kind of like chicken and kangaroo was my favourite!

This sign was next to the river I went rafting in today!! Such an awesome (and extremely wet - splashing game YAY) experience!! Pretty glad I didn't see this sign until after the rafting was done though!! No crocodiles in the river today - and our guide kindly informed us it was only the small ones and they were only 2-3 metres long :P

Ending off with a picture of my very nice dinner tonight down by the sea! :)

Check out this place tomorrow for pictures on the hostel and the city! :)

The Great Barrier Reef

Yes, I did go on a reef tour! Yes it was amazing, I did see a lot of cool fish after getting the hang of the snorkling!! I almost scuba dived, but chickened out right before, lucky me there's always a next time! :) I am coming back to this place sometime in the future, hopefully sooner than later! I've got a couple of pictures for you, however I didn't get any pictures at the first reef where the most colourful fish lived, plus taking photos under the water is not the easiest thing! But I have a few worth showing :)

Superhot sting suit ;)

Yes there is a fish somewhere!

The darker areas is where the reef is :)

Skydive!!!

Well.... If you didn't know I can sometimes be a little bit crazy!! And that includes doing wicked stuff that I'm really too scared to do ;) But after considering something I simply have to do it, and skydiving happened to be one of those things!! So I did, and you know what, it wasn't really that scary at all, just really really epic and amazing!!!! :D

The instructor was absolutely nuts, not kidding!! He was like "Oh, you never did a jump before, oh well just to let you know I didn't even and I suck at this!" But at the end of the day, we did get safely to the ground!! I am defenetily going to do this again, hopefully already this Friday with a nice beach landing!!

Freefall!

Slowing down through the clouds!

Yes the parachute did open! :)

The final week !

Friday came quickly this week as we had tons stuff to do at work, and it was with a little bit of sadness we left the office for the last time yesterday! It's been amazing and the people have been really canny, and helped us with heaps of things!! :)

I've now headed up further north along the coast to Cairns, a little town closer to the Great Barrier Reef where I shall enjoy myself until it's time to go home in a week... Staying at a backpackers place which so far seems really good! Shall try to keep you updated to what's going on over here.. What I can so far is, the heat may actually kill me being around 35 degrees and 80-90% humidity!!!!

Over and out from OZ!

Fraser Island!

Been very busy during the week, but here comes the story of my last weekend! Me and 9 others squeezed into a bumpy jeep and went out to the worlds biggest sand island. Even the rainforest grows on sand, weird but absolutely amazing!!! The beach serves as a designated highway, as far as I'm concerned it's the only highway where people stand fishing in the middle of it!? We got to see lots of amazing places throughout the weekend BUT my camera wasn't properly charged and died before the first day was over.... :(

Unfortunately all of my favourites was during the second day, but I'll try and explain a little bit about it! The island is leaking freshwater so the beach is full of creeks leading out in the ocean! The one beneath is a little bit special, as it contains tee tree oil from some trees, said to be really good for your skin and is really expensive to buy, we had a swim for free! They sometimes call it the CocaCola creek, simply because of the colour! We also went to a lake full with this oil for an even better swim!

On the second day we had a walk through the rainforest, and spotted the homes of Australia's most deadly spider, before our bumpy ride got even bumpier as we headed for Lake McKenzie! A lake full of absolutely pure rainwater sourronded by completely white ancient sand. Heaven on earth as our guide showed us a hidden bay from the mainbeach. Free from all the japanese people we had the entire beach to ourselve and for a few hours time stood still!!

Our bumpy jeep! Sat along the walls in the back pushing yourself down in the seat not to hit your head on the soft and bumpy sandroads!! Great fun and many laughs

The beach was litterally covered in jelly fish!!

On top of Indiana Head, from where we spotted turtles, whales, dolphins and sting rays! Sadly I missed the shark!

Dingoes, kind of like dogs that sounds like wolfs, and often attack kids!

Dinner with the headmaster!

Thursday last week the first headmaster of my school invited us to dinner in town! We didn't say no to a free restaurant 3 course dinner, where we didn't have to cook or clean! The food was really tasty as well, so not a bad night at all! Enjoy the pictures :)

Slightly misplaced?!

Happy me :)

Check out the temperature ;)

Movie World

On Sunday I went down to the Gold Coast again, and chose another one of the 5 theme parks they have there. My choice fell on Movie World which I had heard a lot of good things about from the people I've spoken too. I didn't know what to expect but the first thing that struck me when I got inside the gates was Wow!!! This is amazing!! The main street looked like an old street and it was all so well done really!! There was a western part of the town as well, but because they had an extremely wet flume ride there my camera never got to that part of the park. Their main attractions apart from different shows and 4D movie was different rollercosters going up, down, upside down, forwards, backwards, tipped to the sides, in the dark, and in the light, slow and fast, well just everything you can think of really. And I decided to go on all of them, apart from the one that sadly was closed for the day! :( My favorite one was the red one that I will show shortly. It shoots you out at a high speed straight up and from there you really just go straight down super fast!!!!! I didn't know what it was like when I queued up, and it was a shock the first time, surprisingly more fun than scary!!! :D

Sadly I didn't feel like icecream this day! Still never had a Ben&Jerry's in my life!

Harry Potter shop!

My favourite of the day, getting shoot out from the right superfast and getting thrown into the curves directly!!!

Batman, likes going upside down and spinning the track!!
